The choice is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS get the Xbox version if you can't play it on PC. Every single port ever (aside from a very small minority) runs and looks better on Xbox 360. This is not opinion but objective fact.

Also, you'll be missing out a lot by playing on console. I say save your money and play something different. If you've already played Oblivion, you really aren't missing much at all.

I do agree with the above, as much as I enjoy my PS3 the port of Skyrim is an objective mess that will most likely never be fixed due to how the Gameryo engine and the memory allocation for the PS3 works.

I would wait for the creation kit to release if you decide to get it for the PC as this game was a 360 game that was ported to both the PC and PS3, so even the PC version has quite a lot of issues that need to be addressed via mods before it will be decently playable.

Fvck you Bethesda.

Other way around. It was ported from PC, Bethesda has a notorious ability to release buggy as hell games. The PC version also has crap low System requirements, my mid-level gaming PC runs the game at medium graphics at 720p.

For PS3, memory allocation inst an issue. The game is buggy as hell on all consoles including 360 and PC.

What? How do you port something FROM PC? They made it on the system that has the weakest hardware first so that they wouldn't have to worry about if the stronger systems would be able to run it. What you just said is that they made the game for PC, and then they remade it for PS3, and then they remade it for Xbox. If they ported it from PC with today's hardware standards in mind then the game just straight up wouldn't run on any of the consoles because it'd be too demanding. Xboxes don't have GTX590s.

From playing it on PC, it definitely doesn't feel like it was designed for the PC. Dat menu navigation...

You act as if PC games are only made with top tier hardware in mind. You can make a PC game and then bring it to consoles just fine. Look at every game Valve has released on consoles.

Technically speaking, It's easier to port the game from PC to console.

I'm acting as if it's made with hardware that isn't 6 years old in mind. And orange box for consoles sucked. Portal was passable because it didn't require a lot of "think fast!" shooter techniques. Half-Life 2 played incredibly poorly. I played it on 360 first and PC second and it was a completely different game. And the PS3 version is known to be garbage (ported by EA however).

I'm sorry if I'm incorrect here, but I was under the impression that it's easier to make a game for consoles first and then port it to PC and many games of late have had many issues that make this pretty clear.

Performance-wise, you can't compare console hardware and PC hardware. The hardware you have today on PC's is extremely limited by drivers and API's, so you aren't exactly getting what performance you should have on paper. You bet your sweet buns that outdated console hardware will rival a modern PC in terms of performance every time. Sure, you can crank up the graphics a bit on a PC, but that's mostly because it implements a more recent version of DirectX, or because it can bruteforce itself out of most demands. Console hardware is limited, sure, but you're looking at a ATI Radeon X1900 (X360's GPU) running a newly released game at a steady 30 FPS, when a PC with far superior specs will struggle to maintain a constant framerate. I don't think you can factor hardware into the "what was ported where" argument, because consoles can, in fact, do much more with much less.

You do realize that the game's performance on PC is sloppy because the game wasn't originally written for PCs, right?

Nah, Crazy makes a great point. Consoles can do waaaay more with their hardware than a PC with the exact same hardware.

Doesn't mean the games still don't run like poop on consoles.

no.. not fact, many console ports look better on PC then the 360, though they normally have much worse performance.
